Ombre ruffles

Helooooooooooooooooooooo.

Goodness me you must be wondering where did I disappear this last few days? As I am sure you know already, life is full of unexpected twists and turns and I was forced to leave the country at very short notice and attend a family tragedy. One of my dearest people on this Earth passed away last Wednesday. Maria was not only my cousin but like a second sister to me and I am so glad I got there in time to say my goodbye :) . She was an amazing person who taught me so much I will miss her dearly my whole life.

I desperately wanted to update you in this time and for one reason or the other (mainly internet access) I couldn’t until today.

The first thing I need to tell you about is the online service, sadly the launch didn’t go as smoothly as planned and this new service is temporarily unavailable until further notice. The IT department are working hard to reinstate it and I will make sure to update you again as soon as its up and running. THANK YOU to those that managed to place orders via my online shop in the short time it was live, I was glad to see it working so well. Meanwhile I am happy to receive your orders like I always did by email or by phone.

I have a sweet little duo to share with you today. This was a gift I sent to a dear friend of mine for her birthday.

Stampin'Up! Tea for Two Ombre ruffled dress

The Tea for Two designer papers are still my favourite current papers and I paired them here with good ol Crumb Cake.

I chose to work with the pinks in these papers and decided to create some Ombre ruffles for the Dress Up framelits.

Stampin'Up! Tea for Two Ombre ruffles

Ombre means shadow in French and it refers to graduating shades of the same colour arranged from dark to light or vice versa. I used my markers (what would I do without them?) to add colour to the lovely coffee filter paper, and used 3 shades of pink, Melon Mambo, Regal Rose and Pretty in Pink. Once I added the colour I spritzed the paper with some alcohol to get the colours to run slightly and this is how I obtained this pretty effect for my ruffles.

Stampin'Up! Tea for Two Ombre ruffled dress close

The oversized gray ribbon stops this colour combo being to mushy I feel and it satisfies my love of bow tying, you can tie a super bow out of this wider ribbon.

There are lots more products used on these two projects and if you wish to find more about anything please email me at telemech01@aol.com.

Thank you for your visit today and I hope to see you again soon. Till then as always BIG massive hugs, I really missed you and missed blogging  as well :).

If I am honest it bothers me that its smack in the middle and I will try and work out how to move it, thank you for taking the time to contact me :) .

I am sharing today some welcome cards I made for new members that joined me  and the Passionettes in April. And I am excited as I am now ready to make some more packs for members that took advantage of the extra £25 special offer and decided to take the plunge and sign up. You can still join our team and become a Passionette until the end of May for only £99. For this amount you get to choose £155 worth of Stampin’Up! products and I will help you get your business of the ground. Email me for a no obligation chat I would love to hear from you and have you join our fun group.

Stampin'Up! Morning Post Hello_ This card was heavily inspired by one designed by the Stampin’Up! concept artists. I couldn’t find the original I first saw but it looks like I wasn’t the only one who thought it to be a great card, I found a fellow US demo who copied it as well. You can see her cute version as well as the original on this blog HERE.

And here’s a closer look for you.

Stampin'Up! Morning Post Hello close

The letters were stamped with the wonderful set Morning Post in Island Indigo, Pool Party, More Mustard, Primrose Petals and Lucky Limeade. The cardstock vellum has been stamped in whisper white ink with the Polka dot background stamp and scalloped with the wonderful scallop border punch. I made full use of the stamped dots and adhered my vellum to the card base using glue dots, yep you guessed it I used a glue dot underneath the stamped dots :)

Thank you so much for your visit today please come back tomorrow for another cute project I have prepared. Till then big hugs xxx

Turn your embossing folders into a letterpress

Hello there I hope you are having a relaxing weekend. I am still in my pj’s !!! :) so this will tell you the kind of day I’ve been having.

I am sharing a card I made for a dear Passionette of mine Jo, who celebrated her Happy Birthday last week. And I have a little mini tut for it as it showcases a nifty trick for your embossing folders. Fist here’s the card.

art tut-001

Now Jo loves Crumb Cake to the point that is all she ever uses. I can’t say I have a problem with that as I love and use it lots too its the perfect natural goes with everything kinda colour. Naturally I was going to use crumb Cake for her card. Do you like the chevron background of this card? Well here’s how I did that.

Firstly ink the raised pattern of your embossing folder using your brayer and ink of your choice, I chose whisper white for mine. I prefer to use a brayer for even coverage but you can take the pad to the folder however the ink might bleed around the edges and spoil the effect.

step1

Next wrap the folder around your card layer and pop it through the Big Shot machine on tab 1.

step2

It will come out beautifully embossed and inked :). Now you  could call it done  it looks fab. However for my card here I wanted it a little white er, so I took my white embossing powder and added it to the card while the ink was still wet then I  heat embossed it.

step3

The result a really white  background.

Stampin'Up!Layered Labels and Artisan kit close

The Layered Labels stamp set from Stampin’Up! is a favourite of mine and here I inked the large image first in crumb cake then I added some soft suede and basic black ink with my markers to layer that colour, I randomly scribbled the darker colours onto the surface of the stamp. A few roses from the Artisan Kit add a splash of colour and you can spot a homemade little flower to match those wired ones, that was made using a Boho Blossom punch and some very vanilla card. A touch of regal rose ink was added to the edges of these flowers.

I hope you like my pretty card today and I want to thank you so much for your visit.

Before I leave though I would like to ask for your opinion about  my recently added Pin It button to my photos. Do you find this gets in the way or are you loving the ease of pinning any of my projects to your boards? I know there is a lot of talk re copyright and Pinterest , about people being afraid to pin projects, the reason I added it to my photos was to help you identify that I am cool with you pinning anything from my site. I would love to know what you think. Till next time BIG HUGS xxx

Till next time big hugs xxx

Stippled Blossoms

Hello there its nearly the weekend again. This week was somewhat quieter for me and managed to catch up on some much needed and long overdue admin. I still need to transfer my swap photo from my phone to my computer so that I can share it with you so I am sharing another special card I made in April for Angie one of my new downline using the same set stippled Blossoms.

I am always fascinated by two step stamp sets, they are sooo detailed and beautiful and this set is no exception.

stampin'Up! Stippled Blossoms with Monica Gale, check her blog for more ideas_  Baja Breeze, Night of Navy and Crumb Cake is the colour combo and a trusted layout that I use a lot when I am stuck for inspiration. The flowers were stamped and cut out then mounted on the Natural Composition card, I really like this special card it comes embossed in pretty patterns and its sturdy enough for boxes and even card bases, very pretty.

stampin'Up! Stippled Blossoms with Monica Gale, check out this blog for more ideas_

Seam bonding in Crumb Cake and my *I can craft without it at the minute* Smooch Spritz I use it for everything I make .

I was meant to start my This and That online class but due to the low demand for it I am sad to announce that it won’t happen. I have however started work on mine so I will be sure to show you what I’ve been up to.

Thank you for stopping by and visiting me, I am hoping to  see you again very soon.

Much love xxx

Stampin’Up! Telford Regional Training

Hello there, I hope you are doing ok. The back end of last week was literally spent working on my swaps and team gifts I needed for our Regional Training in Telford this last Saturday. Then yesterday I was busy chatting with lots of lovely crafters at a Craft Show in Hull.

and I am just about caught up with answering emails and customer queries so my blog is next.

We had such an AMAZING day on Saturday but OMG did it go by fast!!  300 demonstrators from all over the UK attended his event and there was over 100 people from our group there!!! It was really impossible to get the whole group for a photo but I did manage to find a few and also capture some of the excitement of the day.

team training-001

We had it all, INSPIRING business talks, incredible talented people showcased some amazing works of art and I was so happy and proud to see some of our team members delivering amazing presentations on stage or take part as display artists, can’t show you though as its top secret for now.

name in lights name in lights 1

Of course there was crafting, and eating (think Authentic Jamaican Rum Cake !!!), and Prize Patrol :), we even had Gangham style dancing!!!

I got to see old friends and meet new ones :). I need to share this with you, see these gorgeous girls? watch that cake its relevant to the story :)

Stampin'Up! Friends They were all seated next to our table and we ended up asking permission to pinch one of their spare chairs. As I looked closely I spotted some cake, LIKE A FULL CAKE people not just a big slice, oh no a full yummy looking home baked cake( most probably the best cake ever). Now if you know me you know I NEVER go past cake without at least sniffing it. So I started exercising my well practiced skills to get some of that cake especially when I found out that it was an Authentic Jamaican Rum Cake. I got a BIG piece of cake and let me tell you it was THE BEST – AJRC I have ever tasted, hands down, these girls were not just talented(fabulous swaps) they could cook and they could move those booties to the afore mentioned Ganghnam style dance :). And then because I am such an idiot I dared ask for the recipe, one look was enough to confirm that I am indeed an idiot (she would have had to kill me if she gave me that). But that was not the end of the cake OH NO, towards the end of the day out came ANOTHER cake!! This time my favourite, Lemon Drizzle cake!!! yep you guessed it I had to get some of that as well and I was bummed because it tasted better than mine:(. This time I wised up.. I never asked for the recipe (what an idiot!!)

Needless to say I will practice my cake skills from now till November when we will attend our annual Convention in Manchester.I will be definitely bringing along my own FULL CAKE just to show this lot !! I might even make it 3 tiers high *wink*

ps. It was great to meet you all ladies :) and thank you for the cake xx

I was honoured to be asked to present on stage this time round and I think I did ok, it was all a blur as I was soo nervous. Here I am checking my notes :). THANK YOU CHRIS  for the photo :)

pres1

Hey the cake ladies are in this picture :)

And here are the gifts I took for my direct team of demonstrators.

Stampin'Up! Collage Curious team gifts

I saw these bottle top charms on lots of blogs and loved the idea, they were perfect to attach to one of our bone folders which my lovely hubs drilled for me. I made lots of these last week with the help of Jo Jo and Jo S. two of my lovely downline and guess who else? lovely Carol of course :), thank you so much ladies xx

I did make 65 swaps all by myself though, but it wasn’t as much fun :) I will share them with you next time. Here’s a close up of the charm

Stampin'Up! Bottle tops charms close The bottle cap was flattened with the Big Shot then 2 circles of glimmer paper was added, stamp and punch the butterfly then the whole lot was filled with crystal effects and left to dry. Colours were Rich Razzleberry, Summer Starfruit and Pool party.

Before I  leave I have one more photo to share with you all. Our team is varied and fun and some of us are actively building  businesses while some are happy to simply enjoy the benefits of being a demonstrator. And some are also busy building the new Generation of Passionettes :)

Stampin'Up! Friends 4

Here I am with Donna and the adorable Lily Keene. I am sure she will have a bright and colourful future crafting along with her mummy :), such a cutie pie.

If you would like to become part of our fabulous team I invite you to contact me for a no nonsense chat to find out if this opportunity would be right for you or not. If you join before the end of May you will also enjoy and extra £25 in your starter kit. (choose £155 worth of product and only pay £99) email me telemech01@aol.com or phone me  01405 862902.

Secret Garden Birthday Passionette

Hello again how are you? its half way through the week already, that Bank Holiday Monday really helped this week going faster.

I am sharing a sweet card I made for Linda a dear Passionette last month. I am so late sharing lots of lovely projects, I think I have enough content from now till Christmas LOL> anyway here it is

Secret garden, Stampin'Up!_

I came quite late to this Secret garden bundle but I am really glad I did cave in in the end. I love flowers and you can never have to many. I used a lovely combo of Pretty in Pink, River Rock (I will miss this colour) and Basic Gray, on a base of Sahara Sand.

I stamped the flower heads in Regal Rose and sponged some Pretty in Pink ink in the centre of the flowers, then added a few small punched flowers made with the Boho blossom punch. Pearls make everything look stylish and a bit of lace adds to the feminine look. I was kicking myself after I finished this card, I wish I stamped my flowers onto very vanilla instead of whisper white, it would have looked better with the lace, oh well hindsight and all that. and up close :)

Secret garden, Stampin'Up! close

Lots of dimension and as a final touch I spritzed everything with yummy vanilla smooch spritz, love that stuff. Sentiment stamped on vellum another of my latest kicks, been using it a lot.

And mega excitement in my crafting world, This and That landed on my doorstep yesterday and managed to shot a video of it for you. Let me say it I AM SOO IMPRESSED WITH IT!!, beyond yummy and I cannot wait to start using it. I am actually thinking of having two *gasp* Anyway have a look at the video and if you wish to order yours contact me. Don’t forget about my online class going live on the 15 may 2013.

Please excuse my idiotic excited squeals, all this after I have seen the book long before mine arrived :). AND FOR THE RECORD all the sayings are listed on the side of the stamp :) I only noticed that after I finished the video of course.

See you again tomorrow I might even have created something with the This and That yummies. Till then big hugs xx

Last Retreat Project

Hello there are you enjoying the fabulous weather? Oh my goodness, I even had my bikini on for the first time this year :) and even my toe nails got a bit of attention. As you know I was exhibiting at the Manchester Show this last week  then decided to take a little break with my lovely. It is great to spend a bit of time just doing nothing after a hectic few weeks :)

Today I am sharing the last project from My PaperieTreat. I have dragged this out so much I feel.

It needed it to be an easy class by Sunday we are all cream crackered. I learned a lesson last September, when I prepared a more involved last class as our last project and I could literally see the tears in their lovely eyes. This time round we had fun with a few techniques and kept it easy but fun.

Stampin'Up! Postage due duo

I LOVE Postage Due stamp set and I am ashamed to say that I purchased it in November and only inked it last month :(.

Anyway for this project I married two well known techniques, creped filter paper technique and the selective baby wipe technique. Colour combo was Crumb cake, Summer Starfruit, Early Espresso and Island Indigo.

Here’s a close up of the card

Stampin'Up!postage due card close up

I love the stamps that have the matching postage stamp punch in this set!! So easy and the results are so professional looking. What you can not see in the picture is that fabby shimmer spray all over it, we love sparkle.

The box was made with the aid of the Simply Scored board, the Bigz OVal Die was used for the closure and the honeycomb folder used for some added texture. We stamped two sheets using the same techniques, we chose the best one for the card and we turned the second one into a tag to decorate the front of the gift box. Here’s the close up

Stampin'Up!postage due box close up

The natural buttons with the linen thread are a match made in heaven especially with this combo. The sentiments were stamped using the Teeny Tiny Wishes and punched out with the Word Window punch.

Thank you for your visit and for all your lovely emails and comments. It was an amazing event and as a result the weekend of 13-15 September got booked up straight away.  However I am now ready to release some more dates during the week for those that work from home or indeed have some holiday left to take :) Keep your eyes peeled for details of it in tomorrow’s post.

Till then big hugs xxx

Sunday Retreat

Hello there I hope your week is going well. I survived my first day at the Manchester Creative Show only 2 days to go :). It wasn’t a terribly busy day today but we met some really lovely crafters that I am looking forward to catching up with soon.

However I now have time for a glass of sparkly wine and a little bit of blogging. I am sharing the projects we did on Sunday at the Retreat.

The first one on the day was a mini book made with my favourite papers Tea for Two. They are so very yummy

Stampin'Up! tea for two mini album

We made the book covers out of the chipboard used in the Crepe Filter Paper packs and we made pages out of the lovely crumb cake envelopes.

The book had a magnetic closure and a flower bloom made with the Tea for Two fabric collection. We attached the bloom to a Oval shape cut with the Oval Bigz die made from 16 layers all held together with a antique brad. flower

For the front we used a few stamped details using the postage due set and the ticket wheel.

Stampin'Up!album detail

The natural buttons are so lovely and make such a nice contrast with these papers. We used linen thread to attach the button to the lace piece and we punched one ticket out with the Ticket punch and one cut by hand.

We kept the pages quite simple

p1 p 2

p 3 p 4

p 5  p 6

We used strips of fabric and sweet clips to decorate the books further along with a few more natural buttons.

Righty, off I go to do some crafting on my hotel room floor. We have a Regional Training  next week and I have a lot of things to make and prepare. Before I go I want to thank you for your visit come back tomorrow and I will share the last project from our weekend. Speak soon hugs xxx

Retreat Pijama Party

After our last class we had a bit of a break then we got ready in our glad rags for a candle lit delicious gourmet three course dinner and a glass of wine or two. We had a birthday in the house that day so we all ended up singing Happy Birthday to the lovely Judith after which it was back in the Haddon Suite for eben more crafting. And what could be better then crafting with your friends? Crafting with your friends in your pj’s and that’s exactly what we did :).

pj

Ooohh look !!who’s that at the sweets table?(top left in the photo) could it be Louise and Jo-Jo? Hahahaha

The candy bar was set up, the music was going and a full table with £100's worth of product all up for grabs appeared :)

Of course you will have to imagine all of this as I haven’t got any more photos :(

And here’s a bonus class I prepared for all the lovely ladies

Stampin'Up! Natures Walk Memo Board

A memo board perfect to clip appointments or shopping lists to. The top die cut shape is attached to a wooden peg so you can safely tuck things into.

I LOVE Nature’s Walk stamp set it suits me and my messy relaxed style of crafting and this project reflected that but I saw clean examples of this and they looked just as good. We used the thick chipboard Stampin’Up! sells and the pop n cuts base to create the back board. Here’s a close up of the front decorations.

memo close

And here you can see it in use

Someone kindly left me this sweet card behind expressing their gratitude and thanks, I found it at the end as I was packing everything. However that sweet person could do with going  back to school and learn to write properly as I cannot decipher her name :)  I want to say THANK YOU to you and all the others who have showered me with lovely gifts, beautiful cards and warm hugs this weekend, THANK YOU you are amazing and I lucky.xxx

We finished off with a quick and challenging challenge.

OH MY GOD I have never laughed so much in my life, it was nearly midnight by this point so our heads were tired and our brains overworked but everyone took the challenge up and everyone done amazingly well, err maybe not Donna *wink* .

I went to bed at 1 am tired but so happy it has been an amazing day so far, I was sad to think we only had one more day left, Saturday went by so quickly.

and as the ladies got to their rooms this is what was waiting for them on their pillows :)

Stampin'Up! Amazing Family pillow gifts packagining

All I can say here is that Carol is a SUPERSTAR!!! and lovely Netty helped to finsih these off before we started on the table decs. I am so lucky to have these sweet friends who drop everything  to help me THANK YOU both.

And inside?

Stampin'Up! Amazing Family pillow gifts_

A lovely stamped clay heart that my cute downline Emily organized for me from a clever potter in Mablethorpe who makes these beauties and fires them and leaves them nekkid for crafty people to do pretty things to them. I am in love with these they take the stamps so well and you can even colour them.

Thank you so much for visiting me, I am hoping to be able to schedule some posts before I leave today if not I will see you again on Saturday. Till then big hugs xx
